We congratulate all the winners of this year's Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation awards ceremony.
We are particularly delighted that Yiqing Zhu has been awarded the 2024 Composition Prize. His work "DeepGrey" won the Basel Composition Competition in 2021. We have developed a strong connection to the composer through its world premiere on March 5th in Basel, and we are pleased that we were able to present its German premiere on May 5th, 2023, at the Cologne Philharmonic Hall as part of the ACHT BRÜCKEN festival.

In addition to the Chinese composer and pianist born in 1989, the Icelandic composer Bára Gísladóttir and the Italian composer Daniele Ghisi were also awarded the Composition Prize.
The Ernst von Siemens Music Prize 2024 goes to Unsuk Chin. We have a close connection to the South Korean composer through our collaboration on the Swiss premiere of her Concerto for Piano and Orchestra, conducted by Baldur Brönnimann, together with pianist Joonas Ahonen.
