We were deeply saddened to learn of the death of composer Thomas Kessler.
He was an incredibly dedicated person and musician who never wanted to make things easy for others or himself, yet always maintained a relaxed and easygoing friendliness and warmth. For him, openness was never just lip service, but a genuine inner commitment; his curiosity and joy of discovery for everything unexplored and discovered was something he passionately exemplified until the very end.
Over the years, we in the Sinfonietta have had the pleasure of performing his works in close collaboration. Conversely, he remained connected to us as a loyal concertgoer until the very end.
We will miss him very much.
